The candidate will assist with training personnel with additional duty appointments in administrative, laboratory, and operations areas, focused on supporting risk based assessments and obtaining feedback from division and branch managers to maintain awareness and to understand the prevalent safety climate, be proactive in identifying hazards, and suggest realistic corrective actions. Compliance with regulatory and policy directives. Ensure DD 2272 DoD Safety and Occupational Health Protection Program and other signs are posted prominently in work areas. Research, maintain records, and implement specific domain safety elements, including but not limited to: AR 385-9 Safety Requirements For Military Lasers; AR 385-40 Accident Reporting and Records; AR 385-30 Safety Color Markings and Signs; AR 420-9 Fire Protection; AR 700-141 Hazardous Material Information System; others cited in AR 385-10 The Army Safety Program, and local policies. Implement passive (posting signs and reminders) and active measures (safety meeting/inspections) to provide informative instructions and coordinate placement of mandatory cautionary and warning signs. Inspections and on-site visits to review safety posture, identify possible risks, and ensure implementation of cautionary measures.
