Responsibilities

US Citizenship and the ability to maintain a DoD security clearance required.

 

The candidate will assist in the creation and maintenance of technical, logistic, and programmatic documentation for a range of government and commercial customers. The candidate will be comfortable taking the lead on a task or effort and making its success their personal responsibility. The candidate will be capable of juggling multiple complex documentation tasks with little or no oversight, while also working effectively within a documentation team to support varying workloads. The candidate will actively seek ways to improve deliverable quality and be unafraid to accept new challenges or suggest new approaches. The candidate will be eager to learn about the systems they support, performing independent research when they encounter job-relevant concepts they do not understand. 

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • BS or higher in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience required
  • Familiar with DoD technical writing requirements and have knowledge of applicable military standards, specifications and test practices
  • Comfortable with frequent interaction with site government and contractor personnel as it pertains to the development of technical documentation including user manuals, test plans and procedures, specifications, white papers and equipment and/or systems training materials and technology description documents
  • Able and willing to submit work samples
  • The candidate should ideally:
    • Be capable of converting non-XML documents to XML while adhering to government stylesheets and DTDs
    • Possess certifications or proof of training for DAU or similar government coursework relevant to technical writing and planning
    • Possess experience authoring courseware and delivering training as a primary instructor
    • Possess knowledge and expertise with SATCOM and networking systems
  • Minimum of 20% CONUS and OCONUS travel required

Experience working in a CMMI Level 3 project/business environment a plus for all open positions. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Security clearance required.
