The Network Administrator (Tier 3) will work as an on‐site contractor supporting our customer at Fort Belvoir, VA to provide daily operational support of a research, development and engineering computer networks. Position involves analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation and operation of existing and new networks and systems. Position involves documenting, maintaining, upgrading or replacing hardware and software systems; monitoring and responding to complex technical hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of testing tools and techniques. Layer 3 support ‐ such as routers, firewalls, IPSec/HAIPE tunnels, and IP Management. Provide design, implementation, security, support and maintenance for 2500 edge device campus area network. Facilitate documentation and diagramming requirements. From edge routers, perimeter defense firewall/IPS, to internal VPN devices and core firewall/IPS. Layer 2 support ‐ such as switches, virtual switches, QinQ, Multicast, and VLAN management. Provide design, implementation, security, support and maintenance for 2500 edge device campus area network. Facilitate documentation and diagramming requirements. From edge switches and L3 switches, to VMWare ESXi and core & data center switches. Liaison with local network management ‐ Primary point of contact with and effectively communicate with local upstream network management organization. Support infrastructure management ‐ such as ntp, syslog and RADIUS services. Provide network facing support to local systems administrators for device support services. Administrative duties with respect to the other duties listed.
