Responsibilities

US Citizenship and the ability to maintain a DoD security clearance required.

 

IA Practitioner supporting Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) Network Support Branch across multiple tasks and projects. The candidate will provide IA and System Security Expertise. Support vulnerability detection. Review security threats and provide recommendations for effective countermeasures IAW established policies, regulations, and or directives. Develop security artifacts (policies and procedures) which support various C&A activities including but not limited to self assessments, topology & network infrastructure development , SW/HW identification and STIG configurations. Support or lead implementation of NIST 800 security controls. Perform functions as required in support of the DoD Instruction 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT). Leverage tools/software such as the Host Based Security System (HBSS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to support NVESD IA efforts. Develop and maintain POA&M’s for discovered operational and technical vulnerabilities for all assigned systems.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret security clearance required, TS/SCI Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 Years of IA experience - preferred practitioner experience
  • Meet IAT III Certification Requirements (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH)
  • Understanding and experience in executing DoD IA policies and procedures (such as DoDI 8500.02)
  • Be familiar and have experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
  • Preferred familiarity and experience with HBSS (similar to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) or Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) outside of DoD)
  • Preferred familiarity and experience with ACAS
  • Preferred experience with Tenable Nessus or similar software to support identification of vulnerabilities
  • Minimum of 5% travel required
