Responsibilities

 

US Citizenship and the ability to maintain a DoD security clearance required.

 

Seeking Software Architect with extensive VMWare experience.The suitable candidate will plan, coordinate, schedule, direct, and control engineering and technical support activities applicable to virtual systems development.  To include but not limited to: 
-Ensures compliance with management plans, policies and procedures. 
-Provides recommendations for resolution of technical problems. 
-Requires background in a DoD development, and/or acquisition environment.
-Provide hands-on technical leadership of virtual system engineering and integration efforts of software-intensive products.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field
  • 7 years' experience required
  • US Secret Security Clearance required
  • Minimum of 25% travel required
  • Advanced knowledge of implementing and sustaining high-availability, virtualized, real-time communications and data processing environments is required. Desirable areas of expertise include:
    • Virtualized infrastructure architecture & design
    • Development of Information Assurance (IA) compliant Virtual Machine (VM) templates
    • Automated VM deployment, services orchestration, and scripting tools
    • Automated Virtualized Environment (VE) IA testing, and associated tools
    • Automated VE performance testing, performance data logging, and associated tools
    • Configuration Management (CM) of VEs
    • Advanced knowledge of implementing and sustaining high-availability, real-time data storage systems in conjunction with VEs is required.
    • Advanced knowledge of implementing and sustaining high-availability, real-time network connectivity, firewalls, and intruder protection systems in conjunction with VEs is required.
    • Advanced knowledge of implementing and sustaining high-availability, real-time virtual desktop and zero-client interfaces in conjunction with VEs is required.
    • Knowledge of implementing and sustaining each of these layers of communications and data processing within VEs is highly desirable:
    • Hardware
    • Computer (including graphics and signal processing)
    • Network Interface
    • Data Storage
    • User Interface
    • Operating System
    • Application Server
    • Inter-Application Messaging
    • Database Management
    • Database Access
    • Knowledge of implementing and sustaining each of these supporting services for communications and data processing within VEs is desirable:
    • User Credentials and Access Management
    • Service Oriented Architectures & Enterprise Service Bus
    • Enterprise Data Replication
    • Working knowledge of implementing and sustaining the following Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Open Source products within a high-availability, virtualized, real-time communications and data processing environment is desirable:
    • Windows Server OS
    • LINUX OS (RedHat & Open Source)
    • VMware vSphere Suite,VMware vRealize, VMware Horizon View
    • VMware vCloud
    • Cloud Foundry Suite
    • Cisco FlexPod
    • NetApp
    • RedHat JBoss Tools
    • Apache ActiveMQ
    • SOAP
    • XML
    • Oracle JAVA
    • Oracle JDBC
    • Oracle ODBC
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP or VCAP) certification is desired.
  • Minimum 7 years of practical experience in implementing and sustaining high-availability, virtualized, real-time communications and data processing environments is required.
